Gautama Buddha, Standing Buddha Statue, Finely Hand-Craved Art
Buddha is credited and known as the founder of Buddhism. In Sanskrit, he is the awakened one, born in the Shakya Clan royal family as a prince in “Kosala kingdom” Kapilavastu, Lumbini, Nepal. His birth name was Siddharth. The Buddha Statue has been finely hand-carved and is attired in a lovely but simple monk robe. It has been expertly sculpted and bronze alloyed on a copper body. This statue was handcrafted by master artisans and regarded as the best in the world in Kathmandu, Nepal. These artisans are the modern heirs to a centuries-old tradition of creating sacred art for temples and monasteries. These fine carving and sculpting techniques have been passed down from generation to generation since ancient times.
The Buddha is depicted in the sculpture standing with a gentle sway on the calyx of a lotus flower. His right hand is in the Abhaya mudra, the protection posture, and his left hand is holding the hem of his outer garment (sangha in Sanskrit), which covers both shoulders. This is a traditional Buddha portrait posture in which he offers protection to his devotees. His eyes are half-closed, his ears are elongated, he has curly hair, and he wears a long flowing drapery monk robe.

All philosophies commemorate various events in the Buddha Gautama's life, such as his birth, enlightenment, and ascension to parinirvana. All three events are celebrated on the same day in some countries, known as Vesak in Southeast Asia. The title buddha was used by various religious groups and had multiple meanings. Still, it came to be most strongly associated with the Buddhist tradition and to mean an enlightened being. He is regarded as the one who has awakened from the sleep of ignorance and achieved freedom from suffering. According to various Buddhist traditions, there have been Buddhas in the past, and there will be Buddhas in the future.
