Handmade in Nepal, Gold Gilded Rare Statue of Vajrasattva
Inspired by the century-old Ming Dynasty period sculpture of Indigenous Chinese art, Our master artist has sculpted this fine and rare gold gilded copper body figure of Vajrasattva statue in traditional Himalayan Art.
Vajrasattva (Tibetan - Dorje Sempa), His name translates to Thunderbolt being or Dimond being in Buddhism. He is also an important figure in Newari Buddhism, holding a tantric value and being an ideal guru.
We have depicted Vajrasattva seated on a moon disc of a Lotus pedestal seat. The pedestals are equal and identical in size, with a single row of slim down-tuned lotus petals between strings of rounded pearls. He holds a vajra in his right hand and a bell in his left hand with meditating expression. He wears a silk robe around him and is adorned with preciously hand-craved jewels and a crown. The highlight of the statue is the delicate and intricate details of the carving from our master artists to replicate the Ming Dynasty (Yongle sculpture). This statue was sculpted by our master artist about five years ago, and it took almost a couple of years to complete.

Dorje Gyan, or "Vajra Ornament," is the Vajrasattva root tantra in Tibetan Buddhism. Vajrasattva practices are used in Tibetan Buddhism to clear obscurations so that Vajrayana students can progress beyond Ngondro practices to the various tantric yoga practices, as well as to clear any broken samaya vows after initiation. As a result, Vajrasattva practice is a necessary component of Tibetan Buddhist practice.
