Shakyamuni is a Buddha of our historical era. He had a significant influence on Buddhism and other parts of the world. Considered a symbol of peace, he teaches others to focus on enlightenment and encourages us to be in a state of peace and wisdom. The Buddha is a human and divine being who was "awakened" from the sleep of ignorance, purifies all evil, "expands" the power of compassion endlessly, and achieves all good.
This masterpiece sculpture is a symbol of the master artistry of our studio's extraordinary talented artisans based in Kathmandu, Nepal, reflecting power and grace and is a brilliant example of rare Nepalese Artistry of our historical sacred art form of handmade craft. This magnificent statue is the most dynamic portrayal of Shakyamuni Buddha at the moment of his full enlightenment. He is seen seated with his legs crossed in a Vajrasana posture, peacefully with a slight smile on this breathtakingly beautiful and majestic throne. Shakyamuni touches the earth with the tip of his finger by his right hand and his left holding an alms bowl in his lap. The statue's face is more sensitive than other parts of gold features as the face has thick gold gilded. The portal of Buddha is finely proportioned with a tight curl of hair, golden complexion, and elongated ears. The spectacular robe is wrapped around his body-like skin; our artists have carved intricate pattern details of the robe with gemstones with a skillful balance of ease and tension covering his chest, legs, and shoulder.
Shakyamuni Buddha was once a crown prince with a perfect life and family. Still, after realizing the suffering mankind was experiencing, he felt the need to scarify all and left his palace life to find the cure for all suffering. Later, he not only discovered the cure for humankind’s suffering, but he also attained the pinnacle of enlightenment and became the perfect example of wisdom and compassion. Buddha's teaching was able to reach others and demonstrate the embodiment of the exact nature of reality as well as the desire for the happiness of others. His teaching evolved also to include the perfect abilities to experience and communicate a joy to all living beings, transcending suffering and death.
