About The Statue
Dorje Phagmo, also known as Vajravarahi, is shown magnificently in this statue. This statue was handcrafted in Kathmandu by a Nepali artist in copper and gilded in 24K Gold. Vajravarahi is depicted in a wrathful countenance in crimson. In her right hand, she wields a knife, while in her left, she holds a skull cup. A khatvanga staff is in the crook of her left elbow, and her two legs are dancing on a human corpse.
Vajravarahi achieves perfect enlightenment, the state of consciousness of a fully enlightened being, or Buddha. by meditations. The little Buddha head depicted in the top of her hair reflects her Buddha essence. The Dakini is a stunning woman, the most divine of all ladies. But it isn't her attractiveness that draws practitioners in but rather her promise of overcoming the ego and its desires.
