Beautifully Hand-Carved Large Sculpture of Green Tara
Green Tara, also known as "Shyamatara" in Sanskrit, was thought to be the incarnation of a Nepali princess. This gorgeous Large Green Tara sculpture was hand-carved in our studio by skilled artists. For generations, our artisans have sculpted Buddhist deities, and it is a sacred art form with great meaning. It took several months to finish this statue, which was sculpted on a copper body gilded in 24k gold.
She is depicted seated on a lotus with her legs crossed and her right leg outstretched, ready to spring into action, wearing beautiful bodhisattva ornaments with breathtaking intricate lotus flower designs and holding a closed blue lotus (utpala). Green Tara's left hand is in the mudra of refuge, and her right hand is in the mudra of giving.

Green Tara, the Goddess of Universal Compassion and the Mother of All Buddhas, protects navigation and earthly travel as well as spiritual travel on the path to enlightenment. Green Tara is associated with enlightened activity and active compassion, as befits such a supremely powerful and compassionate deity, and is the manifestation from which all of Tara's other manifestations emanate.
