White Tara Is Long Life Deity, Buddhist Statue
Long Life deity White Tara is seated in the more contemplative diamond lotus position in the statue, her legs folded beneath her and eyes on her feet looking upwards. White Tara has seven eyes, one on her forehead and one on each of her hands and feet, indicating her caring alertness to perceive the world's suffering. Her protecting mudra is on her left hand, while her wish-granting mudra is proper. She generally has a stem of the Utpala lotus flower with three flowers in her left hand. One flower is a seed, another is about to bloom, and the third is fully bloomed. These are the Buddhas of the past, present, and future.
We pray to White Tara for health, healing, and longevity. She provides recovery for our wounds, whether physical or mental.
