Shakyamuni Buddha is seated atop a moon disc lotus seat in this statue. A Nepali artist traditionally carves the sculpture by hand in Kathmandu. The large and beautiful elongated earlobes symbolize a conscious rejection of the material world in favor of spiritual enlightenment.
