Description

Founder of Buddhism, Handmade Statue of Shakyamuni Buddha

We are craftsmen from the Kathmandu Valley who expertly hand-carved this Statue of Buddha Shakyamuni in the traditional Himalayan style. The oxidized copper body of the statue is covered in intricately detailed carvings, giving it a classic antique appearance. The Historical Buddha sits serenely atop a moon disc lotus seat, holding an alms bowl in his right hand and performing the 'Bhumisparsa Mudra,' symbolizing one of the most important moments in Buddha's life, namely when the Buddha attained enlightenment and claimed the earth as his witness.

It makes an ideal gift for any devotee, can be used in Buddhist rituals, and is an excellent addition to your Altar.

Size: 8.6"/22cm (Height) x 5.9"/15cm (Base)
Weight: 1.64 kg
Material: Oxidized Copper Body

Shakyamuni Siddhartha Gautama was Buddha's original name. Only when he became the Buddha was he given the name Shakyamuni. Buddha means "awakened one" in Sanskrit. He carries an alms bowl filled with three priceless nectars in his left hand, signifying his victory over the three demons of uncontrollable death, polluted aggregates, and delusion.
