Tara's prominence in the Himalayan area, particularly in Tibet and Nepal, is that of a supreme goddess or female buddha rather than a bodhisattva. The Wisdom Goddess, the Embodiment of Perfected Wisdom, the Goddess of Universal Compassion, and the Mother of All Buddhas are all names given to her. Green Tara is the manifestation from whence all of Tara's other forms emerge, connected with enlightened action and active compassion.
