The Medicine Buddha | Bhaisajyaguru | Buddhist Statue

The Medicine Buddha, Buddhist Healing Deity Statue

The Buddhist statue represents the Medicine Buddha seated on a lotus throne. His right hand holds a lotus, whereas he is peacefully meditating while holding a vase in his left hand. The tiny features of the statue contribute to the statue's charm.

Medicine Bhaisajya, or Healing Buddha, is another name for Buddha. He can heal both birth and death illnesses. He lives in the cleansed lapislazuli realm of the east. To convert and instruct sentient beings in that land, he is accompanied by two Bodhisattvas named Suryaprabha and Candrapraha. Bhaisajya Buddha is regarded as the source of all medicinal treaties in Tibetan medical history.
