Traditional Vajrapani Bodhisattva Statue

This is Bodhisattva Vajrapani's statue, which is crafted of pure 24k gold and exquisite corals. The name Vajrapani means a holder of the Vajra, representing the power of complete enlightenment. He is a meditational deity and a protector who is depicted standing on top of a sun disc lotus seat with a wrathful expression.

Vajrapani is the Buddha's "indestructible power," assisting us in overcoming misconceptions, poisons, and attachments that obstruct our progress.

I am very thankful for Termatree.

The Vajrapani statue is not only surpassingly beautiful and flawless on the outside but also flawless, it is strikingly beautiful.

It is hard to find a fully qualified Buddha statue, that also looks beautiful these day, but this Vajrapani statue is exceptional in it being fully qualified. From the ornaments to the facial expression every aspect of this wonderful statue is exactly like Lama Tsongkhapa described.

As for the consecration, there are again many pleasant surprises. The base plate was properly fitting with the appropriate double vajra. There was a back place that also fits perfectly and is finished on the outside to a very high degree.

Having filled 15 statues, I have not come across any statues that were not cast out of purple bronze that had no holes in it to patch from the inside. The water test and the candle flame test revealed that this statue not cast from purple bronze, has no holes in it at all. This was very pleasing to me.

The opening going to the crown is unblocked and so I am able to place crown and throat mantras in this statue. Of course this makes the statue much more qualified. Out of the four limbs, only one is completely blocked and so the appropriate mantras, can be filled in them too.

As for flashing and soot, like any other statue of this material, there is lots in this one and so this need quite a bit of effort to remove for qualified statue filling. Only statues I have seen that this was not an issue is purple bronze.

All in all, this is a very very special statue that is not only the best qualified statue of Vajrapani from the outside, but is also a great statue from the point of consecration.
