Amitabha Buddha: The Buddha of Infinite Light

Amitabha Buddha or Amitayus is one of the most significant and revered Buddhas of the Mahayana and Vajrayana forms of Buddhism.  The meaning of his name is Infinite Light (Amitabha) and Infinite Life (Amitayus), which demonstrates how merciful and wise he is and how the teaching of the Buddha can make people enlightened.  The school of Buddhism called the Pure Land admires Amitabha.
