Himalayan Golden Statuette For Buddha Dhyana
This statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, an enlightenment deity, was made by a Nepali craftsman to practice Buddha Dhyana. Shakyamuni Buddha, a single-faced ., established the Buddhist tradition. His long, pierced earlobes date back to his days as a prince. With the fingers touching the ground, the right arm is raised over the knee in the earth witness mudra. With an alms bowl in the meditation mudra and the palm facing up, the left hand is positioned on the lap. A heavily patterned, gemstones-embedded gold robe covers the shoulders and falls around the body and legs. In traditional Buddhist monk fashion, the right arm is exposed.

Shakyamuni Buddha founded the Buddhist tradition. In the sixth century B.C.E., he lived and taught in India during a period of rising religious and philosophical thinking from Greece to China. To uncover the reasons for this anguish and the methods to alleviate it, he abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold.
