This Green Tara (Droljang) statue is a remarkable example of refined Himalayan metal artistry. The figure is skillfully crafted with a solid copper body, ensuring strength, balance, and longevity. Over this strong foundation, the statue is enriched with 24K gold gilding and gold electroplating, creating a radiant, luminous presence that beautifully highlights every sculpted detail.

The surface is finished with hand-applied acrylic paintings, carefully layered to achieve the vibrant green complexion and subtle tonal transitions that bring Green Tara’s compassionate expression to life. Each feature—from the gentle curve of her face to the fluid elegance of her posture—is meticulously carved to reflect both grace and spiritual symbolism.

Intricately hand-carved gemstones are set throughout the crown, ornaments, and halo, adding depth, texture, and brilliance. These stones not only enhance the statue’s visual richness but also emphasize its sacred and ceremonial character.

The finely detailed throne, lotus base, and ornate halo demonstrate exceptional precision and balance, showcasing the mastery of Nepali artisans who continue this sacred artistic tradition. Together, the materials and craftsmanship create a statue that is not only visually striking but also spiritually resonant—capable of standing out with elegance and presence in any sacred or contemplative space.

Symbolism of Green Tara (Droljang)

Green Tara, known in Tibetan as Droljang, is revered as the Swift Liberator, embodying active compassion and enlightened action. Every aspect of her form in this statue carries profound symbolic meaning.

Her right leg extended forward signifies readiness to rise and act, representing her immediate response to the suffering of beings. Unlike deities shown in a complete meditation posture, Green Tara’s dynamic pose reminds us that compassion is not passive; it moves, protects, and responds without hesitation.

Her right hand, extended in the gesture of supreme generosity (varada mudra), symbolizes her willingness to grant protection, blessings, and the fulfillment of wishes. In her left hand, she holds the stem of a blue utpala lotus, a flower that blooms both day and night, symbolizing purity, wisdom, and compassion that remain unstained by worldly suffering.

Her serene yet alert expression reflects perfect balance, deep inner peace combined with outward awareness. The finely detailed ornaments and flowing garments represent the union of wisdom and method, while the vibrant green color symbolizes renewal, healing, and fearless activity.

In this statue, the careful craftsmanship enhances these symbolic elements, allowing Green Tara’s enlightened qualities to be felt not only visually, but energetically. Placed in a shrine, meditation space, or living area, she serves as a constant reminder of compassion in action and the courage to respond to life with an open heart.
