The Guru statue is a work of art, handcrafted in traditional Himalayan art of Nepal by expert craftsmen on a copper alloy with 24k gold gilding. He is pictured sitting atop a lotus moon disc, holding the vajra scepter in his right hand and a skullcup filled with nectar, jewels, and a long-life vase in his left hand. The elaborate katvanga staff is held up on the left shoulder.

Guru Rinpoche was an instrumental figure in Tibetan Buddhism.
