Shakyamuni Buddha Copper Statue | Teacher of the Dharma and Awakening
Shakyamuni Buddha Copper Statue measures 9.06”/23cm in height with a 6.1”/15.5cm base and weighs 1.57 kg. Handcrafted in Nepal by skilled artisans, it features a copper body enhanced with 24K gold gilding and detailed acrylic painting. The radiant gold finish highlights the refined sculptural surface, while the carefully applied acrylic details add subtle color, depth, and definition. The combination of traditional copper craftsmanship, gold gilding, and hand-applied painting reflects the precision and patience of Nepalese artisans, creating a refined representation suitable for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, and Himalayan art collections.
Seated in the traditional vajra posture, the figure displays the bhumisparsha mudra, with the right hand reaching toward the earth while the left hand rests in the lap holding an alms bowl. The serene expression, half-closed eyes, elongated earlobes, curled hair, and prominent ushnisha represent wisdom and awakened consciousness. Finely carved patterns decorate the robes, lotus throne, and ornamental borders, with detailed engraving creating depth across the surface. The crown and jewelry, where present, are carefully modeled with floral and traditional motifs, while gold gilding, acrylic painting, and gemstone details further emphasize the refined Himalayan craftsmanship.

Shakyamuni Buddha, born Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism. Born in ancient India, he lived a life of privilege before leaving his royal surroundings in search of an answer to the suffering experienced by all beings. After years of spiritual practice and meditation, he attained enlightenment and became known as the Buddha, meaning “Awakened One.” He then spent the remainder of his life teaching the Dharma, explaining the causes of suffering and the path toward liberation. His teachings, including the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path, became the foundation of Buddhist tradition and continue to guide practitioners toward wisdom, compassion, and freedom from suffering.
