Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is a central figure in Mahayana Buddhism, revered for his compassion. He is often depicted with multiple arms, each representing a facet of his loving kindness and his readiness to provide help. His mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum, is one of the most widely recited in Buddhism, embodying the essence of compassionate practice. As a bodhisattva, Chenrezig embodies the ideal of postponing final enlightenment until all beings are liberated from suffering, making him a central figure in Buddhist compassion and wisdom teachings.
