This statue shows Bodhisattva Amitayus Buddha of long life magnificently. This statue art is handcrafted in Kathmandu by a Nepali artist in copper and gilded in 24K Gold. The vase he holds on his lap, which contains amrita, the nectar of immortality, signifies longevity. Amitayus is a manifestation of Amitabha, a buddha who is said to be able to transfer his disciples to the Pure Land after death. They are liberated from the samsara cycle and reach enlightenment.
