Handcrafted in Nepal from a copper body, the sculpture is finished with 24K gold gilding, detailed acrylic painting, and carefully placed gemstones that add luminosity, color, and refined decorative depth to the surface. This Amitayus is depicted as a serene youthful Buddha of Infinite Life, seated in the full vajra posture upon an elaborately carved double-lotus base. His single peaceful face, gently lowered eyes, slight smile, elongated earlobes, and carefully arranged dark hair convey deep meditation, tranquility, and awakened awareness. Both hands rest together in dhyana mudra in the lap, holding the long-life vase (tsebum or kalasha), the principal attribute associated with Amitayus. The vase represents the nectar of immortality, symbolizing longevity, freedom from premature death, and the continuation of virtuous spiritual practice. He wears an elaborate five-jeweled crown, large ornamental earrings, layered necklaces, armlets, bracelets, waist ornaments, and richly patterned silk garments, expressing his sambhogakaya form. Flowing scarves extend gracefully from his shoulders, while the intricate patterns across his garments emphasize his sacred and regal presence.
