Atisha Dipankara Shrijnana (982–1054 CE) was a pivotal Indian Buddhist master who journeyed to Tibet in the 11th century. He played a crucial role in the revival of Buddhism in Tibet, particularly through his teachings on the Lamrim (stages of the path to enlightenment) and his emphasis on cultivating bodhicitta, the altruistic aspiration to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings.
