Black Dzambhala Figurine: Embodiment of Prosperity and Protection
The Black Dzambhala Figurine measures 12.4”/31.5cm in height with a 9.8”/25cm base and weighs 4.61 kg. Expert Nepali artisans have handcrafted the sculpture from a copper body and completed it with an antique finish. The dark patina settles into the recessed areas while the exposed copper creates subtle highlights across the face, ornaments, garments, ritual attributes, and lotus base. This contrast gives greater definition to the deeply carved details and reinforces the sculpture’s bold, aged appearance.
Black Dzambhala is depicted in a wrathful standing posture with a rounded belly and a powerful expression. His right hand holds a skull cup, while his left hand carries a mongoose associated with the release of jewels and abundance. He is adorned with a crown and ornaments, and his firm stance presents the forceful character of this wealth deity. Black Dzambhala is revered in Tibetan Buddhism for removing poverty and financial obstacles, while encouraging generosity and the proper use of wealth.
