This beautiful Maitreya Buddha figurine represents the future Buddha who will show up to spread the Dharma when Shakyamuni Buddha's teachings have disappeared from the globe. The "loving-kindness" Buddha, also known as Maitreya, represents all-encompassing compassion and the prospect of enlightenment in the future.
This lovely figurine, which is 13.7 inches tall and has a base that is 10.2 inches wide, is made of a copper body that has been Tripe layered 24K gold-gilded, and it is decorated with detailed acrylic paints and hand-carved Gemstones all over the body including lotus seat and crown. Deeply hand-carved designs give the feel of a 3D Embossed effect, so it feels like the Buddha is wearing real ornaments and a robe. This piece's craftsmanship and quality are obvious, given its 4.63-kilogram weight.

Maitreya, in the Buddhist tradition, the future Buddha, presently a bodhisattva residing in the Tushita heaven, who will descend to earth to preach the dharma (“law”) anew when the teachings of Gautama Buddha have completely decayed. Maitreya is the earliest Bodhisattva around whom a cult developed and is mentioned in scriptures from the 3rd century CE. He was accepted by all schools of Buddhism and is still the only bodhisattva generally honored by the Theravada tradition.
