Traditionally Carved Shakyamuni Buddha Garden Fountain Statue
This Buddha Shakyamuni statue is entirely hand-carved and traditionally colored turquoise. He is sometimes referred to as the Buddha of Enlightenment. The sculpture's body is composed of oxidized copper. He is shown sitting on a moon disc lotus seat, looking tranquil and at peace. His left hand is holding an alms bowl over his lap, symbolizing the 49 pieces of rice he was given before enlightenment during his meditation. His right hand is delicately touching the ground to signify his accomplished enlightenment. It took our artisan years of diligent effort to carve intricate design patterns into the statue to give it perfect details. The statue weighs about 11.95 kg.

Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. However, when he was around 29 years old, he learned about people's tremendous pain. He abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the reasons for this anguish and the methods to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-deprivation, and severe concentration, he achieved his aim. He had attained enlightenment (a Buddha). He claimed to have then proceeded to a deer park in Sarnath (Benares), India, on the outskirts of Varanasi.
