Traditionally Hand Carved Buddha Gautama Shakyamuni Statue
We have traditionally hand-carved the statue of Shakyamuni Gautama Buddha in an oxidized copper body. You can use this sculpture in Buddhist rituals and regular yoga or meditational activities. We have depicted a deity seated on top of a moon disc lotus throne with a calm expression, holding an alms bowl with his left hand while his right hand is on earth touching mudra. It took more than a month to sculpt this large statue, meticulously designed and hand-carved with the significant essentials, which is mesmerizing. We are the artist of Kathmandu valley whose artisan has passed from generation to generation, reflecting Buddhism. Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. However, when he was around 29 years old, he learned about people's tremendous pain in life. He abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the reasons for this anguish and the methods to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-deprivation, and severe concentration, he achieved his aim. He had attained enlightenment (a Buddha). He claimed to have then proceeded to a deer park in Sarnath (Benares), India, on the outskirts of Varanasi.
