Description

Traditionally Hand-Carved Historical Buddha, Buddha Shakyamuni Statue

We created this stunning Buddha Shakyamuni statue in our studio using a traditional Himalayan carving technique passed down from generation to generation from Nepal. The use of copper and gold gilded finish gives the statue a timeless and lustrous quality. Here, the Buddha is depicted seated on a moon disc lotus seat, with his right hand in the 'Bhumisparsa mudra,' which symbolizes an important moment of his life, i.e., when he attained enlightenment claiming the earth as his witness. He can also be seen carrying an alms bowl with his left hand. The statue is adorned with intricate carvings and engravings, showcasing the remarkable attention to detail of the artisans who created it. The statue's calm expression and gentle demeanor convey the Buddha's compassion and wisdom, which is further enhanced with acrylic painting.

This statue captures the essence of his teachings, which emphasize the path of compassion, wisdom, and liberation. This Shakyamuni Buddha statue is a true masterpiece and a valuable addition to any collection of Buddhist art.

Shakyamuni Siddhartha Gautama was Buddha's original name. Only when he became the Buddha, was the name Shakyamuni given to him. Buddha means "awakened one" in Sanskrit. In his left hand, he carries an alms bowl filled with three priceless nectars, signifying his victory over the three demons of uncontrollable death, polluted aggregates, and delusion.
