A Buddhist Green Tara Handmade Statue: Embodiment of Compassion and Swift Aid

As depicted, Green Tara is shown seated on a lotus throne with her right leg typically extended forward, signifying her active compassion and willingness to help. Her hands express profound meaning through their gestures. The right hand is displayed in the "gesture of giving" (Varada Mudra), symbolising her boundless generosity and willingness to provide blessings. Meanwhile, her left hand delicately holds a blue lotus (Utpala), a symbol of purity and spiritual awakening, offering protection and reassurance to those who seek her guidance.

In this beautifully crafted statue, Green Tara is portrayed seated in lalitasana, with her right leg extended in readiness to rise and offer aid. Her right hand is in varada mudra, the gesture of supreme generosity, while the left hand is in vitarka mudra, holding the stem of a blue lotus (utpala), symbolising purity and enlightenment blossoming amidst samsara. Adorned with a serene expression, she wears a flowing robe and a five-pointed crown representing the Five Dhyani Buddhas. The fine gold gilding and vivid acrylic details enhance the divine warmth and luminosity of her form.
