Tsangpa Gyare Yeshe Dorje (1161–1211) was a pivotal Tibetan Buddhist master and the founder of the Drukpa Kagyu school, one of the main lineages of the Kagyu tradition. He is renowned for his profound spiritual realizations, including his vision of nine dragons soaring into the sky, which gave the Drukpa Kagyu its name ('Druk' meaning dragon).
