Description

Buddhist Protector Hevajra Statue: An Embodiment of Transcendent Wisdom

The Handcrafted Buddhist Protector Hevajra Statue stands 8.86”/22.5cm tall and 6.89”/17.5cm at the base, weighing 1.83 kg. This sculpture is made from a copper body and covered with a layer of 24K gold gilding. Acrylic painting highlights selected facial features, hair, garments, and decorative details. Expert Nepali artisans have carefully handcrafted the multiple faces, arms, ornaments, figures, and surrounding flames, making this statue suitable for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, or sacred art collections.

Hevajra is depicted in a dynamic union with his consort, their bodies held together in a dancing posture. His multiple faces display fierce expressions, while his numerous arms extend outward around the central figures, with each hand holding a ritual object. The consort embraces Hevajra with one leg raised around his body. Both figures wear crowns, jewelry, and intricately carved ornaments. They stand upon sculpted figures arranged above a lotus pedestal and are enclosed within a large aureole of rising flames. Their embrace represents the inseparable union of wisdom and skillful means in Vajrayana Buddhist practice.

Hevajra is a principal meditational deity (yidam) in Tantric Buddhism, particularly revered in the Sakya tradition. He is depicted in wrathful aspect, often with multiple heads and arms, signifying his complete mastery over all states of being and his fierce commitment to dispelling delusion. His iconography represents the union of wisdom (prajna) and skillful means (upaya), leading to the swift attainment of enlightenment and protection from obstacles on the spiritual path.
