Description

Chaturbhuja Mahakala Copper Statue: Fierce Protector of Dharma

This Chaturbhuja Mahakala Copper Statue stands 13.78 inches (35 cm) high upon a 9.84-inch (25 cm) base and weighs 6.7 kg. Expertly crafted by skilled Nepali artisans from a durable copper body, the statue is completed with a rich antique finish that emphasizes its intricate details and commanding form. Its substantial size and refined craftsmanship make it a distinguished addition to a Buddhist altar, meditation space, or carefully curated spiritual collection.

Chaturbhuja Mahakala is portrayed with one wrathful face, three bulging eyes, bared fangs, a lolling tongue, and upward-blazing hair, eyebrows, and beard. A crown of five skulls rests above his head, while a garland of severed heads, ornamental bands, a tiger-skin garment, and flowing scarves enrich his powerful appearance. His four arms hold a curved flaying knife and a skull cup near his heart, while the raised hands carry a flaming sword and a trident-topped ritual staff. He sits in a heroic posture upon a lotus, sun, and moon seat, subduing a figure beneath him and surrounded by a vibrant aureole of flames.
