Chenrezig Buddhist Protection Statue | Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion

Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara), the Bodhisattva of Compassion, embodies boundless mercy and the compassionate intention to liberate all sentient beings from suffering. Often depicted seated gracefully in the vajra posture (full lotus position) upon a lotus seat, Chenrezig symbolizes purity arising unstained from worldly suffering. In his common four-armed form, the two central hands are joined in anjali mudra (prayer gesture) at the heart, holding a wish-fulfilling jewel that represents compassion and enlightened mind. The right outer hand holds a crystal mala (prayer beads), signifying the continuous cycle of compassionate activity and liberation, while the left outer hand holds a lotus flower, symbolizing purity, spiritual awakening, and freedom from attachment. Chenrezig is adorned with precious ornaments, silk garments, and a five-jeweled crown, often bearing the image of Amitabha Buddha atop his crown, signifying his spiritual lineage and connection to infinite compassion. His serene expression reflects unconditional love, wisdom, and the vow to hear the cries of suffering beings across all realms.
