Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit) is the most revered Bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism, embodying the boundless compassion of all Buddhas. He is said to have manifested in various forms to aid sentient beings and is often depicted with multiple arms, symbolizing his capacity to reach out to countless suffering beings simultaneously. The Dalai Lamas are considered earthly manifestations of Chenrezig. His mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum, is one of the most widely recited and cherished in the Buddhist world, a direct invocation of his enlightened compassion.
