Chenrezig, Embodiment of Universal Compassion

This Chenrezig Embodiment of Compassion Statue stands at 13.6”/34.5cm in height and 10.8”/27.5cm at the base, weighing 3.5 kg. It is handcrafted from a copper body, finished with 24K gold gilding, acrylic painting, and carefully placed gemstones. The sculpture features a serene facial expression, an ornate crown, finely detailed Buddhist jewelry, flowing celestial garments, lotus flowers, and a richly carved lotus pedestal. The radiant gilded surface highlights the intricate patterns across the ornaments, garments, lotus petals, and decorative elements, while the gemstones add subtle color and depth to the sacred form. Its balanced proportions and detailed Himalayan Buddhist craftsmanship make it well suited for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, Dharma centers, devotional practice, or sacred collections.

This sacred depiction portrays Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion. In his four-armed form, the principal hands are joined before the heart in anjali mudra, expressing the compassionate aspiration to benefit all sentient beings. One additional hand holds a mala, symbolizing continuous compassionate practice and the recitation of sacred prayers, while the other holds a lotus, representing purity and the unfolding of enlightened wisdom. He is seated peacefully in lotus posture, reflecting meditative stability and compassionate awareness. His elaborate crown, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, armlets, and celestial garments emphasize his enlightened Bodhisattva nature, while the lotus throne symbolizes purity and spiritual awakening. Together, these elements express Chenrezig’s role as an embodiment of boundless compassion and a guide toward wisdom, kindness, and liberation.

Chenrezig, known as Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit, is the most revered Bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism, recognized as the manifestation of the compassion of all Buddhas. He is believed to hear the cries of all sentient beings in the universe and to delay his own Buddhahood to assist them on the path to enlightenment. He is also considered the patron deity of Tibet and is closely associated with the Dalai Lamas.
