Chenrezig Statue | Sacred Form of Avalokiteshvara and Compassion
Chenrezig Statue measures 9.8”/25cm in height with a 7.5”/19cm base and weighs 2.21 kg. Handcrafted in Nepal by skilled artisans, it features a copper body enhanced with 24K gold gilding, acrylic painting, and carefully set gemstones. The radiant gilded surface highlights the sculpted form and ornamental details, while the acrylic painting adds refined color and definition to the facial features, garments, and decorative elements. The gemstone embellishments further enrich the surface with subtle texture and detail, reflecting the precision and care of traditional Nepalese metal craftsmanship.
Chenrezig is traditionally depicted with four arms, embodying the boundless compassion of the Bodhisattva. The two central hands are joined at the heart in anjali mudra, holding a wish-fulfilling jewel, while the upper right hand holds a mala and the upper left carries a lotus. His peaceful white complexion, serene expression, five-jeweled crown, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and flowing garments reflect his compassionate form. The lotus symbolizes purity, the jewel represents the precious awakened mind, and the mala signifies continuous practice and recitation. Crafted in Nepal, the sculpture reflects the region’s traditional Himalayan metalworking artistry and detailed craftsmanship.

Chenrezig, known as Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit, is the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion, revered across all Buddhist traditions. He is considered the earthly manifestation of the self-born eternal Buddha Amitabha, embodying the compassion of all Buddhas. He is said to have vowed to free all beings from suffering before attaining Buddhahood himself, delaying his own enlightenment out of immense love for sentient beings. He is often invoked through the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum."
