Chenrezig: The Radiant Embodiment of Infinite Compassion

This Chenrezig Statue with 24K Gold Coating measures 17.7 inches (45 cm) in height, rests upon a 12-inch (30.5 cm) base, and weighs 8.84 kg. The sculpture is formed from a copper body and enriched with radiant 24K gold gilding, acrylic painting, and gemstone accents. Colored stones enhance the crown, necklaces, ornaments, flowing scarves, and lotus pedestal, while the gilded finish brings depth to the figure’s serene face and detailed garments. Its substantial proportions make it a meaningful focal point for a Buddhist altar, meditation space, or collection of Himalayan sacred art.

Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is the Bodhisattva of Compassion. In his traditional four-armed form, his two central hands are joined at his heart in prayer around a wish-fulfilling jewel, symbolizing the compassionate intention to benefit all beings. His upper right hand holds a mala, representing the continuous recitation of the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, while his upper left hand holds an utpala lotus, symbolizing purity and the unfolding of compassion. His crown traditionally bears the image of Amitabha Buddha, affirming his connection to the Buddha of Infinite Light and his role as a guide on the path of loving-kindness and wisdom.

Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is the earthly manifestation of the self-born eternal Buddha Amitabha and is considered the patron deity of Tibet. He is the personification of the compassion of all Buddhas, having famously vowed not to enter Nirvana until he has assisted every sentient being in attaining liberation. His practice is central to many lineages of Vajrayana Buddhism, emphasizing the transformative power of the Mani mantra and the development of a kind heart.
