Hand crafted with a pure copper body and gilded with 24k genuine pure gold. The deity is depicted with his right hand gently touching the ground as he sits cross-legged in deep concentration with a peaceful expression, signifying that he is calling on the earth to attest to the truth and virtue of his deeds and words. In a contemplative position, his left hand is holding an alms bowl. The intricate design patterns that have been carved on the statue have been exquisitely carved by the artists of Nepal taking the artists months of hard work the completion the statue in our studio.

Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. He abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the reasons for this anguish and the methods to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-deprivation, and severe concentration, he achieved his aim. He had attained enlightenment (a Buddha). He claimed to have then proceeded to a deer park in Sarnath (Benares), India, on the outskirts of Varanasi.
