Description

A Sacred Gemstones Adorned Guru Tsokye Dorje Sculpture, Embodying Fearless Wisdom

This Radiant Gemstones Adorned Guru Tsokye Dorje Sculpture measures 10.24”/26cm in height with a 7.48”/19cm base and weighs 2.14 kg. Crafted by skilled Nepali artisans, this sculpture features a copper body richly finished with 24K gold gilding, acrylic painting, and carefully set gemstones. The gold gilding enhances the deeply engraved patterns across the figure, lotus pedestal, robes, crown, and ornaments, creating a refined three-dimensional effect. The acrylic painting adds carefully applied color to the face, garments, and decorative elements, while the gemstones are incorporated throughout the crown, jewelry, and ornaments to create a radiant and richly detailed appearance. The combination of traditional copper craftsmanship, gold finishing, colorful painting, and gemstone embellishment makes this sculpture suitable for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, Dharma centers, or spiritual collections.

The sculpture depicts Guru Tsokye Dorje, the Lake-Born form of Guru Rinpoche, seated gracefully upon an intricately carved lotus pedestal. He wears the distinctive lotus hat and holds a vajra in his right hand, while his left hand holds a skull cup near his lap. A khatvanga staff rises behind his shoulder, adding a distinctive vertical element to the composition. His peaceful facial expression is framed by an elaborate hat and earrings, while layered necklaces, bracelets, flowing robes, and richly detailed ornaments adorn the figure. The carefully arranged ritual implements, gemstone-studded decorations, and intricately carved lotus throne create a refined representation of Guru Tsokye Dorje in traditional Himalayan Buddhist sculpture.

Guru Tsokye Dorje is one of the eight manifestations of Guru Padmasambhava, the Lotus-Born, who brought Tantric Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century. This particular form, often translated as 'Lake-Born Vajra,' represents Padmasambhava's powerful emanation for subduing negative forces, granting spiritual attainments, and purifying obstacles on the spiritual journey.
