Description

Antique Finish, Gilt Yama Dharmaraja Statue Yidam Artwork for Religious Dharma Decor

This Gilt Yama Dharmaraja Statue is a powerful representation of protection and change. Yamantaka, also known as Manjushri's wrathful incarnation, dispels bad energies and guides practitioners to enlightened states. This 9.6" statue, made with a copper body and embellished with gold, acrylic paints, and an antique finish, is an impressive addition to altars, shrines, or meditation places and represents the spiritual creativity of Himalayan Buddhism.

Yama Dharmaraja is a furious manifestation of the wisdom bodhisattva Manjushri. His three blazing eyes on top of his head represent his omniscience and his capacity to look into the past, present, and future. Yama's dynamic stance as he crushes the forces of negativity is depicted in rich detail in the statue, representing his position as a strong force against the ego and the circle of suffering.

Yama Dharmaraja is a Tantric Buddhist - wisdom deity - protector of the Method Class (father) of Anuttaryoga Tantra specifically used by those engaged in the practices of the Vajrabhairava Tantra. Both Vajrabhairava and Yama Dharmaraja are wrathful emanations of Manjushri - a bodhisattva in Mahayana literature but a tantric deity equal to a Buddha in Vajrayana Buddhism.
