Handmade Namgyalma Sacred Sculpture | Divine Protector of Life and Liberation
This Handmade Namgyalma Sacred Sculpture measures 15.16”/38.5cm in height with a 12.6”/32cm base and weighs 7.59 kg. Handcrafted in Nepal from a copper body, the sculpture is covered with three layers of 24K gold gilding and enriched with deep hand engraving that creates a pronounced three-dimensional effect across the surface. A gold dust finish, detailed acrylic painting, and carefully placed gemstones add luminosity, color, and refined decorative depth, while the intricate metalwork reflects the precision of skilled Nepalese artisans and the enduring traditions of Himalayan Buddhist craftsmanship. Spiritually, the figure is associated with longevity, purification, protection, and the removal of obstacles, making this piece meaningful for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, Dharma centers, monasteries, or sacred collections.
This Namgyalma (Ushnishavijaya) is depicted in her traditional three-faced, eight-armed form, seated in vajra posture upon a lotus throne. Her central face is white, with a yellow face on the right and a blue face on the left, and each face has three eyes, representing complete awareness of the three realms. A small Amitabha Buddha appears above her elaborate jeweled crown, signifying her enlightened lineage. Her central hands hold a crossed vajra at the heart, symbolizing indestructible wisdom and compassion, while her other hands hold a lotus supporting Amitabha Buddha, an arrow, bow, vajra lasso, and long-life nectar vase, with additional hands displaying protective and generous gestures. She is richly adorned with a five-jeweled crown, earrings, layered necklaces, armlets, bracelets, and flowing silk garments decorated with intricate patterns, while blue scarves and ornamental flourishes frame her form. Her lotus throne features brightly colored petals and detailed decorative borders, completing the sacred iconography of Namgyalma as a deity associated with longevity, purification, protection, and liberation from obstacles.
