This Shakyamuni Buddha Statue is hand-carved in our studio by skilled Vajrayana artisans who are traditionally trained in the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition of artistry. The statue is made of premium copper and gilded in 24K gold. This statue portrays the Buddha sitting peacefully on a moon disc lotus seat performing the "Bhumisparsa mudra," or "earth-touching stance," with the right hand on the ground representing the moment Buddha attained enlightenment claiming the heart earth as his witness, and the other holding an alms bowl, a symbol of the Buddha's denouncement of earthly desires.
