Traditional Golden Gautama Buddha Handmade Statue | Founder of Buddhism
The Traditional Golden Gautama Buddha Handmade Statue measures 13.4” (34 cm) in height and 9.8” (25 cm) at the base, weighing 4.53 kg. Made from copper, covered with a triple layer of 24K gold gilding, and carved with deeply engraved carvings that produce a magnificent 3D-like effect. This sculpture, adorned with gemstones, handcrafted by expert Nepalese artisans, elegantly symbolizes Himalayan Buddhism's sacred traditions, making it an appropriate addition to altars, meditation places, or sacred collections.
Gautama Buddha is depicted in a peaceful, meditative pose with half-closed eyes, embodying profound tranquility and an awakened presence. His right hand performs the bhūmisparśa mudrā, symbolizing the moment he called the Earth to witness his enlightenment. In his left hand, he holds an alms bowl, representing renunciation and the simplicity of the monastic path. Adorning his head is the uṣṇīṣa, a symbol of supreme wisdom, while his hair is arranged in snail-like coils, referencing the well-known story of snails protecting him from the sun during prolonged meditation. Seated in the vajra posture on a lotus base shaped like a moon disc, he embodies spiritual stability, purity, and unwavering focus. The base is decorated with a Dharma Wheel and two lions, which stand for the Buddha’s teachings and the courage to proclaim the truth, respectively.

Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. However, when he was around 29 years old, he learned about people's tremendous pain in life. He abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the reasons for this anguish and the methods to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-deprivation, and severe concentration, he achieved his aim. He had attained enlightenment (bodhi) and became the Buddha, which means "awakened one" in Sanskrit.
