Description

Beautiful Golden White Mahakala | 24k Gold Gilded Art

This 15-inch Golden White Mahakala statue represents one of the most powerful protectors in Tibetan Buddhism, embodying wealth, prosperity, and spiritual protection. White Mahakala, depicted here with a serene yet fierce expression, the statue is standing at size 15”/38cm (Height) x 11”/28cm (Base)  and weighs 4.46 kg. It is made of copper, covered with a triple layer of 24K gold gilding, and carved with deeply engraved carvings that produce a magnificent 3D-like effect. This sculpture, adorned with hand-carved gemstones and handcrafted by expert Nepalese artisans, elegantly symbolises Himalayan Buddhism's sacred traditions, making it an appropriate addition to altars, meditation places, or sacred collections.

The deity stands atop a moon disc lotus seat bearing three pairs of arms, each holding an item characteristic of his iconography, as a fiery nimbus surrounds the deity's body. He can be seen holding a vajra, a vajra-handled knife, a trident, and a skull cup filled with blood. This all represents his association with purity, wisdom, and compassion. The deity's wrathful facial expression is highlighted with acrylic paints.

Mahakala is the guardian god of Mahayana Buddhism and all Tibetan Buddhist schools. He represents various ways, each with its own features and characteristics. In some circumstances, he is seen as the emanation of distinct beings, such as Avalokitesvara or Chakrasamvara. The five kleshas (adverse ailments) are transmuted into the five pearls of wisdom, and Mahakala is typically represented with a crown of five skulls.
