Description
Statue of Green Tara, Protector Deity | Bodhisattva of Compassion
Green Tara, Protector Deity stands 51 cm (20 inches) tall and 40 cm (15.7 inches) wide, weighing 10.02 kg. Created from a copper, covered with a triple layer of 24K gold gilding, and carved with deeply engraved carvings that produce a magnificent 3D-like effect. This sculpture, adorned with hand-carved gemstones, handcrafted by expert Nepalese artisans, elegantly symbolizes Himalayan Buddhism's sacred traditions, making it an appropriate addition to altars, meditation places, or sacred collections.
The deity is seated in the lotus position upon a double lotus pedestal, symbolizing purity and spiritual awakening. The hands are arranged in sophisticated mudras—one hand raised in the teaching gesture (vitarka mudra) and the other holding a lotus stalk—demonstrating wisdom and offering. Elaborate floral motifs, especially blue lotus blossoms flanking the figure, represent divine enlightenment and the blossoming of spiritual growth. The towering crown is bedecked with jewels, and five white, flame-like attributes rise above it, alluding to the five transcendent wisdoms in Mahayana Buddhism. The harmonious integration of turquoise and coral inlays not only enhances the visual beauty but also invokes protective and auspicious qualities in Himalayan tradition.
