Green Tara is adorned with a five-pointed crown, symbolizing the perfected wisdom of the Five Dhyani Buddhas. Her right hand is extended in the varada mudra, the gesture of supreme generosity, indicating her readiness to grant protection and to swiftly respond to practitioners' needs. The left hand is raised in vitarka mudra, the gesture of teaching and guidance, delicately holding a fully blossomed lotus flower that represents purity, liberation, and the unfolding of enlightened activity.

Green Tara (Sanskrit: Syamatara) is a female Bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism and a popular deity in Tibetan Buddhism. She is considered a compassionate mother who swiftly comes to the aid of all beings, protecting them from suffering and granting wishes. She represents enlightened activity and is often invoked for courage, wisdom, and protection on the spiritual path.
