Padmasambhava is seated on a lotus throne, holding a vajra in his right hand and a skull cup with a vase on top carrying the nectar of wisdom in his left hand. A "khatvanga" (sacred trident) with three severed heads leans on his left shoulder, symbolizing freedom from the three principal causes of misery (kayas). His robes are wonderfully molded with exquisite decors, and his unique cap is topped with an eagle feather on top.
