Hand-Carved Chenrezig Copper Sculpture | Embodiment of Boundless Compassion

This Hand-Carved Chenrezig Copper Sculpture reflects the refined artistry and traditional craftsmanship of Himalayan Buddhist sculpture. Measuring 62 cm (24.4 inches) in height with a 46 cm (18.1 inches) base and weighing 14.63 kg, it features a copper body enhanced with 24K gold gilding, detailed acrylic painting, and carefully set gemstones. The radiant gold surface highlights the serene expression, four-armed form, symbolic attributes, and intricate ornamental details, while the acrylic painting and gemstone embellishments add definition, vibrant color, and decorative richness. The combination of precise copper craftsmanship, gilding, painting, and gemstone artistry reflects the patience, skill, and dedication of skilled Himalayan artisans in creating this sacred representation of his boundless compassion.

The Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion embodies the boundless love, mercy, and enlightened aspiration to liberate all sentient beings from suffering. He represents the active expression of compassion, guiding beings toward peace, wisdom, and spiritual awakening. Traditionally depicted in a serene and graceful form, his peaceful expression reflects profound kindness, patience, and the calm awareness of an awakened mind. In his four-armed form, his hands symbolize the limitless activities of compassion: the two central hands joined at the heart in Anjali Mudra hold the wish-fulfilling jewel (Cintamani), representing pure compassion and the aspiration for universal liberation, while the upper hands hold a crystal mala and utpala lotus, symbolizing continuous practice, purity, and awakened wisdom. As a powerful meditation focus, Chenrezig inspires practitioners to cultivate unconditional compassion, empathy, patience, and the selfless dedication to benefit all beings on the path toward liberation.

Chenrezig, or Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit, is the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion in Mahayana Buddhism. Revered across the Himalayas, he embodies the compassionate activity of all Buddhas. His primary mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum, is one of the most widely recited in Tibetan Buddhism, calling forth his benevolent energy. He is often depicted with four arms, symbolizing his boundless capacity to help sentient beings and his mastery of all four immeasurable qualities: loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity.
