This sacred pairing serves as a meditation support that inspires practitioners to trust the path of devotion, inner discipline, and experiential insight, where ignorance is dissolved and innate awareness is directly recognized as the ultimate nature of mind.

Tilopa (988–1069 CE) and Naropa (1016–1100 CE) are foundational figures in the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. Tilopa, having received direct realization, transmitted the profound Mahamudra teachings to his disciple Naropa. Naropa systematized these teachings into the famous Six Dharmas of Naropa, forming a spiritual bridge that enabled the transmission of these core practices from India to Tibet.
