A Handmade Standing Tara Sacred Sculpture for Compassion and Protection
The Radiant Handmade Standing Tara Sacred Sculpture stands 16.0”/40.5cm tall and 9.8”/25cm at the base, weighing 5.87 kg. This sculpture is made from a copper body and covered with a luminous layer of 24K gold gilding. Acrylic painting is carefully applied to selected facial features, ornaments, and decorative details. Expert Nepali artisans have handcrafted the figure with close attention to her graceful posture, attire, jewelry, and flowing scarves, making it an appropriate centerpiece for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, or sacred art collections.
Tara is depicted standing gracefully upon a lotus pedestal, with one leg supporting her body and the other gently bent across the front. Her right hand extends outward with an open palm in the varada mudra, representing generosity and the granting of blessings. Her left hand is raised beside her shoulder while holding the stem of a blossoming lotus. She wears an elaborate crown, large earrings, layered necklaces, armlets, bracelets, and a delicately carved lower garment. Long scarves flow from her shoulders and curl outward beside her body, emphasizing the gentle movement of her standing posture. Her slightly tilted head, lowered eyes, and calm expression convey a serene and compassionate presence.

Tara, meaning "star" or "she who saves," is a revered female Buddha in Vajrayana Buddhism, particularly prominent in Tibetan Buddhism. She is considered the mother of all Buddhas and embodies the virtues of enlightened action, compassion, and protection from all fears and obstacles. Green Tara, one of her primary manifestations, is known for her swiftness in coming to the aid of sentient beings and her ability to overcome hindrances. She is often depicted with her right foot extended, signifying her readiness to step forth and help.
