Maitreya Buddha is depicted seated in serene majesty, performing the Dharma Chakra Mudra with his principal hands, symbolizing the turning of the Wheel of Dharma (Dharmachakra). The right hand also has a lotus stem, upon which rests a Kalasha (vase), signifying abundance, blessings, and the nectar of immortality.
He wears a five-pointed crown, representing the Five Dhyani Buddhas, which embody the perfection of wisdom and compassion. Maitreya is seated upon a richly adorned throne featuring makara (mythical sea creatures) motifs along its sides, symbolizing protection and auspicious energy.
