Virūpa was a famous Indian mahasiddha and tantric master during the 8th century. He was a key figure in the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition, renowned for his profound realization and mastery of tantric practices. Despite his realization, Virupa maintained a somewhat wild and eccentric appearance, wearing little more than a tiger skin and a skull crown, which symbolized his transcendence of worldly concerns. His songs and poems are still revered in Tibetan Buddhism.
