Description

The Heyagriva Powerful Protector Statue: Subduing Obstacles with Wrathful Compassion

This Heyagriva Powerful Protector Statue measures 11.2 inches (28.5 cm) in height, rests upon an 8.8-inch (22.5 cm) base, and weighs 3.39 kg. Handcrafted from copper, the sculpture has been carefully shaped to capture the protector’s forceful posture, wrathful expression, ritual ornaments, and intricate decorative details. The copper body provides the structure required for its elaborate sculptural work, while 24K gold gilding is applied to selected surfaces to emphasize the contours and sacred attributes. Acrylic painting is used with precision to define the facial features, garments, ornaments, and flame-like details. Its balanced proportions and substantial weight give the statue a commanding presence suitable for a Buddhist altar, protector shrine, meditation room, Dharma center, or collection of Himalayan sacred art.

Heyagriva is a wrathful manifestation of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, demonstrating how enlightened compassion can assume a fierce appearance when confronting suffering and obstruction. His intense gaze, bared fangs, raised hair, and dynamic posture symbolize the fearless energy that subdues ignorance, harmful influences, and inner afflictions. The distinctive horse head emerging above his crown is his principal identifying feature; its powerful neigh is traditionally understood to penetrate the realms of existence, dispel obstacles, and awaken beings from delusion. The surrounding flames represent the fire of wisdom that consumes confusion and transforms destructive forces into conditions for spiritual progress. Although formidable in appearance, Heyagriva’s wrath is not ordinary anger but compassionate activity directed toward protection, purification, and liberation. His presence encourages practitioners to meet adversity with courage, disciplined awareness, and unwavering commitment to the Dharma.
